  MODERN ELECTRONICS: A BRIEF COMMENT

Title: Modern Electronics: A Brief Comment
Author: David J Larkin
Keywords: Electronics
Created: February, 2025

...'consistent with' is 'mistaken for' or 'misrepresented as' 'confirmation of'...

In response to an associate-philosopher's presentation asserting the weirdness of orthodox theory, a gatekeeper voiced the opinion that: "it's worth remembering that all that weird sounding physics, strangely enough, is the basis for the modern electronics industry, and it works."

Of course, "it's worth remembering", that more than one theoretical construct may be consistent with the evidence. [1] Furthermore, consider the anecdote:

A company's accountant prepares to open a wall-safe to retrieve the previous-day's takings. He proceeds, according to instruction, by turning the tumbler-dial anticlockwise until the first number in the code is registered; he then proceeds, according to instruction, to touch the tip of his nose three times; then turns the dial clockwise until the next number in the code is registered; and once again, touches the tip of his nose three times; and so on, according to instruction, until the safe is opened by turning the lock's handle. Watched by the office secretary, who questions the accountant as to why he repeatedly touches his nose, the accountant replies that it is necessary, according to instruction, in order to open the safe. The secretary, in disbelief, objects that the instructions are, therefore, replete with nonsense; to which the accountant, indignant, replies: oh really, and yet it works?
